Taking on select projects

DevOps done right, with real dev experience behind it.

I'm M. Kloosterman, a DevOps engineer and software developer from the Netherlands. DevOps is my day-to-day, but I've spent years writing backends too, so I move comfortably from application code to the infrastructure it runs on.

// SERVICES

From code to production.

01

DevOps & CI/CD

Pipelines that build, test and deploy on their own, so a release stops being an event. This is my core focus.

02

Cloud infrastructure

AWS environments and Linux servers, set up sensibly and sized for what you actually run.

03

Consultancy & second opinion

Not sure about a setup or a decision? I'll dig in and give you a straight answer.

04

Automation

Scripting away the manual, error-prone work.

05

Backend development

APIs and features in PHP, Symfony and Laravel, written for whoever maintains them after me.

06

Containers & Docker

Environments that run the same on your laptop as in production.

07

Databases

MySQL and Postgres design, tuning and migrations.

// HOW I WORK

I came to DevOps from application code.

I started out shipping PHP backends: integrating APIs and owning the databases underneath. Over time that grew into DevOps as my main focus — Linux servers, services, workloads on AWS. That background means I understand both the app and the platform it runs on.

AWS GitHub Actions GitLab CI Jenkins PHP Symfony Laravel Docker MySQL Postgres Linux

Own the whole stack

App and infrastructure are one system.

Automate the repeat work

If it's done twice by hand, it's a candidate for a script or a pipeline.

Learn the tool properly

Docs first, then a small real build — before it touches production.

Got something to build or automate?

Tell me what you're working on. I do this alongside a full-time role, so I take on a few projects at a time.
